Pilgrimage Held in Madeira, Portugal

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the death of Blessed Karl of Austria who died on 1 April 1922 at the young age of 34. To commemorate this anniversary, a special pilgrimage was organized by the Gebetsliga in Funchal, Madeira, the island where Blessed Karl was exiled and later buried. Days and events included the rosary, Benediction, a concert, lectures, and Masses. Nearly 500 pilgrims including groups from Italy, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, and the USA made the pilgrimage to the island of Madeira. Photos by Marco Freek.
