The Emperor Karl League of Prayer U.S.A. and Canada is pleased to offer a new collection of children’s dolls featuring Blessed Karl of Austria and his wife, Servant of God Zita. Fashioned from cotton, each doll is lovingly handmade in the USA. Karl is depicted in the uniform he was often photographed wearing and Zita is shown wearing a white dress and crown of a princess, inspired by the wedding portrait of Karl and Zita from July 12, 1911 and photographs from the Hungarian Coronation of December 30, 1916.

Karl and Zita saw their family as the ‘little Church’ where the love of Christ is nurtured and cultivated. On their wedding day, Karl famously declared to Zita, “Now we have to help each other to get to Heaven!” They also inscribed a special prayer inside their wedding bands: “Sub tuum presidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genitrix” (We fly to take refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God). God blessed their marriage with eight children, and helped them to lead lives of heroic virtue and holiness. Whether familiar with their story, or being introduced to it for the first time, these dolls of Karl and Zita can help serve as heavenly role models for children and the young at heart.
