Karl and Zita Dolls Available

The Emperor Karl League of Prayer U.S.A. and Canada is pleased to offer new children’s dolls of Blessed Karl of Austria and his wife, servant of God Zita. Designed in consultation with Mr. Jordan Hainsey, U.S.A. and Canadian Webmaster and Designer, each doll is lovingly handmade and stitched from wool felt by Mandy May Laschon, a Virginia fabric artisan. Karl is depicted in the blue and gold uniform he wore and is seen photographed wearing. Zita wears a dusty rose dress with a lace collarette, inspired by their official wedding portrait from 1911.

Karl and Zita saw their family as the ‘little Church’ where the love of Christ is nurtured and cultivated. On their wedding day, Karl famously declared to Zita, “Now we have to help each other to get to Heaven!” They also inscribed a special prayer inside their wedding bands: “Sub tuum presidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genitrix” (We fly to take refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God). God blessed their marriage with eight children, and helped them to lead lives of heroic virtue and holiness. Whether familiar with their story, or being introduced to it for the first time, these dolls of Karl and Zita can help serve as heavenly role models for children and the young at heart.
