Gebetsliga Statement on the Election of Pope Leo XIV

The Emperor Karl League of Prayer North America joyfully extends heartfelt congratulations to Pope Leo XIV on his election to the See of Peter.

We entrust his pontificate to the intercession of Blessed Karl of Austria, a devoted husband, father, and ruler who bore suffering with faith, led with integrity, and pursued peace not for political gain, but as a sacred duty before God. As the first pope from North America, his election marks a new chapter in the life of the Church.

In a world so often torn by conflict and division, we pray that Pope Leo, like Blessed Karl, may be a courageous instrument of peace—a bridge builder who seeks reconciliation, upholds the dignity of every person, and reminds us that true peace is found only in Christ.
