The Final Act of Trust

“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” — Luke 23:46

As his life came to its end, Karl’s prayer echoed the words of Christ. Those at his bedside saw not fear, but surrender. The long path of obedience had led to this moment of complete trust. We do not know when or how our own final surrender will come. Yet it is prepared in the daily acts of confidence by which we place our future into God’s hands. His holy death reveals the goal of every Christian life: to return everything to the Father in peace.

Blessed Karl, obtain for us the grace of a faithful and trusting end. Amen.
