2nd Saturday of Lent
A Eucharistic Life
“I am the bread of life.” — John 6:35
The rhythm of Karl’s life was formed by the Mass. From the Eucharist he received the strength to govern, to suffer, and finally to surrender everything. Even when his public role had disappeared, this center remained unchanged. Our own lives are often scattered among many concerns. Yet the place where he knelt is open to us as well. There our anxieties are gathered, our decisions purified, and our hearts made steady. When Christ becomes our daily bread, we discover a stability that nothing outward can take away.
Blessed Karl, make our lives Eucharistic. Amen.
